Grand National Roadster Show 2010

January 31st, 2010

Haneline Products is back again as an exhibitor at the Grand National Roadster, the 61st annual.  If you’ve never been, you are missing out.  It is my favorite show each year, and the variety and quality of cars at the show is quite impressive.

The premiere award is the America’s Most Beautiful Roadster, or AMBR.  Each year, a select group of approximately ten figure roadsters are on display for people to see and admire.  I do not envy the judges that have to make an objective and subjective decision about some of the top roadsters in the nation.  If chosen, your name goes on a eight foot tall trophy.

We look forward to see which roadster comes out on top, along with the winners of the close to 100 awards handed out on Sunday, the final day of the show.

Jim Bible’s 1939 Ford Roadster

January 29th, 2010

At the recent Grand National Roadster Show, we enjoyed seeing Jim Bible’s new car, built by Tom Pagano of Pagano Rod and Custom in northern California.  It’s a custom ‘39 Ford painted light blue with cream and red pinstripes.  The interior and frame are red, with the red theme carrying over into the smoothie wheels with chrome trim.  Power hood and trunk finish it off, and a few of the special features include a 1959 Impala dash with Haneline gauges and one-off custom hand-made chromed brass bumpers and tail lights.

The car was years in the making and, according to Tom, he spent the final 72 hours before the show finishing last minute details and bringing it to the GNRS.  The pinstripes were actually still wet when it made its public debute as it entered the show.  Jim, the owner, saw it complete for the first time as it rolled out of the trailer into the sunshine!  Named “The Coaster” it will spend the rest of 2010 on the show circuit, then Jim plans to cruise as much as possible.

It’s an impressive car and we are proud to be part of the build.  Congratulations to Tom and Jim for the vision and the craftsmanship!

Beautiful Willys

May 20th, 2009

Thanks to David Miller of Miller Speedsports in Reno, Nevada for sending us these pictures of one of his latest projects.  This award-winning car has done well at shows along the West Coast.  At David’s request, we built the gauges with polished bezels to complement the steering wheel.

GoodGuys - DelMar, CA: Great Show, Even Better Weather

April 5th, 2009

We recently headed down the coast for the GoodGuys Del Mar show in April.  This is an annual show that takes place at the scenic Del Mar Fairgrounds.  The location is also home to many other events, including horse racing.  The show has two buildings with ‘feature’ cars, plus the outdoor area.  All together, I’m guessing that there were at least 1,500 cars and trucks on display.  We had a booth setup up in one of the three indoor vendor halls, but there were also quite a few companies with outdoor displays. To see some of our pictures from the show, visit our Hub Garage page.

We hope to see you at the next show.

Proud Moment at the Hot Rod & Restoration Tradeshow

March 16th, 2009

Last week, Nordskog Instruments and Haneline Products displayed at the annual Hot Rod & Restoration Tradeshow in Indianapolis, Indiana.  This is the 11th annual show, which brings dealers, jobbers, speed shops, distributors and manufacturers of hot rod and muscle car parts together in a trade only event.

The week starts with one day of educational seminars on Thursday, followed by two days of typical exhibit hours.

The show hours are kicked off with a big breakfast on Friday, which includes two major events.  First, is the announcement of this year’s new product award winners (more on this later).  Secondly, each year a new person is honored with the Robert E. Peterson Lifetime achievement Award.  This year, that honor went to “Speedy” Bill Smith, founder of Speedway Motors in Nebraska.   The attendees at this breakfast are treated to a small roundtable discussion of racing and roddin’ stories of the past.  The invited guests this year included Barry Meguiar and our good friend Dutch of POSIES Rods and Customs.

Back to the new products awards…This year, Haneline/Nordskog Instruments received the award for Best New Street Rod/Hot Rod Product for 2009.  The winning product was our GPS Pulse Generator.  We are proud of this great achievement and appreciate all of the great feedback we received at the show.

Built in 2008, and debuted at the 2008 SEMA Show, Euroliner was built by POSIES in Pennsylvania.  This beautiful custom car features too many custom parts and modifications to mention.  It does have a set of Haneline’s 5″ 3-in-1 gauges, and was featured in our booth at SEMA.

Monster Truck at Haneline

January 17th, 2009

One of our customers (Airborne Ranger) stopped by to give us an up close look at a monster truck.  We parked the truck out in front of our building to give other customers, employees and passers-by an opportunity to check it out too.

This is a special truck, it’s a ‘ride truck,’ which means it actually has multiple passenger seats in the bed of the truck.  This gives people the opportunity to get a ‘tame’ ride in such a beastly vehicle.  After leaving our shop, the truck was off to get a great upgrade…a lift.  No, it wasn’t getting raised, it was being equiped with a hoist that will allow access to riders limited to a wheel chairs.

Check out the website to see when this truck is coming to your town.
